BOSTON, MA, March 4, 2020 – J.P. Marvel, an independent wealth management firm in Boston, today announced the appointment of Richard F. Syron to its board of advisors. Syron brings more than 40 years of experience in economic policy, banking, and leading businesses through transitions and reorganizations.

“We are pleased to welcome Richard Syron to our board of advisors,” said Joseph “Joe” Patton, CEO of J.P. Marvel. “Richard brings strong financial expertise and leadership in economic policy and banking. His perspective and knowledge, which includes both business and government, will be important as our firm continues to grow into the next decade.”

Previously, Syron served as the chairman and CEO of the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac) until 2008.
